Resources to Promote Well-Being During COVID-19 Outbreak
While we are maintaining social distance and/or quarantined, many people lose access to resources that support their self-care. Here is a list of resources to help you navigate this challenging time while maintaining your own well-being.
What’s New in wellness
In order to help you nurture relationships while staying safe in the midst of a global pandemic, the UF/GatorCare Wellness team has created a guide to local activities/establishments that promote socially-distant fun, a map of some restaurants with outdoor seating (organized by price range), virtual party game options, outdoor recreation sites, and more!
GatorCare members have new access to free confidential Psychiatry services. In response to feedback, GatorCare has expanded the contract with TalkSpace to include psychiatry services in addition to therapy services! Now you can take advantage of convenient telehealth visits (scheduled according to your availability) to obtain a psychiatric evaluation and/or ongoing medication management.
Aid-a Gator is an emergency fund that provides [aid-a-gator logo with palm tree and life raft] limited assistance to UF faculty, staff and students who experience a temporary financial hardship.
Help us increase mental health awareness and combat stigma with our Talk About It Campaign!
For the month of May, which is National Mental Health Month, we will be creating various social media posts that you can share on your platforms using the hashtag #GCTalkAboutIt.
The UF Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) offers free online mental health workshops for UF STUDENT, FACULTY, and STAFF. Workshops provide the opportunity to learn new skills to strengthen personal resilience, develop healthy self-care habits, and grow mental health awareness. No consultation or appointment is needed. Just RSVP and join at your convenience.
About COM Wellness
The University of Florida College of Medicine (UFCOM) Wellness Programs support the well-being of our trainees and faculty in order to promote optimal performance and professional fulfillment. We provide consultation and guidance to department chairs, division chiefs, program directors, and other leaders regarding ways to improve the culture of wellness within their units. We also work with multiple offices throughout the University of Florida to disseminate information regarding wellness resources and programs available to members of the UFCOM community.
On this site, you will find information about wellness initiatives for students, house staff, and faculty. A calendar of upcoming events sponsored by UF-UF Health Wellness is listed for your convenience, and the “Resources” tab includes a listing of programs and services available to assist you in working toward your personal wellness goals.
We encourage you to click on the “Wellness Rx” tab to complete a personalized wellness prescription and take the first step on your journey toward increased well-being and professional satisfaction.
Finally, we recognize that developing a true culture of wellness will require ongoing effort. We are open to ideas and look forward to working with you! Please use the “Contact Us” form below to submit comments, questions, suggestions, or requests.
